Olympus Rally - Quick History lesson, by Jake GPLaps

Imagine a country with over a million miles of unpaved roads, with massive areas of wilderness and mountains and unique terrain which spans the gamut found on planet earth. A country with a population that has an unquenchable thirst for the automobile and the largest auto manufacturers willing to take any opportunity to outshine their rivals. A nation fueled by endless motorsport competition with some of the largest events in the world funded by the largest corporations in the world all vying to have a small slice of the pie. It seems like a place for which Rally would have been the perfect variety of racing to claim as its own. To take a seemingly average vehicle and hurl it on seemingly average roads at incredibly unaverage speeds. Not requiring a special facility and bringing the sport itself directly to the people in their own back yards. And that is very nearly what happened in the Cascade mountains of the Pacific Northwestern United States. For a brief 3 years of the 1980s, the w...

Olympus Rally - Roadbook - SRM 2025-2026 Round 2

Image
The adventure continues into a new continent and a new surface for the crews to tackle. Almost 300km of special stages in the forests, around inlets and by the ocean coast near "New" Olympia. So close to the home of the rally gods, will they bring us favourable weather this time too?... As always, remember to recce the stages, especially the ones with loops, to make sure you always know the way forward. Good luck and enjoy the rally! >>> LINK TO RALLY <<< >>> PDF VERSION <<<

Rajd Polski - Roadbook - SRM 2025-2026 Round 1

It is time to get organised and let the co-drivers do what they do best: prepare the rally and the services ahead of this first adventure of the season. The weather is reported to be quite clear, but it must be remembered that after so many cars passing through the stages various times, there might be some dirt in some corners that will make the road more slippery. Good luck and enjoy the rally! >>> LINK TO RALLY <<< >>> PDF VERSION <<<

Rajd Polski Roadbook Ramblings, by Wiktor Smoliński

So, you've enrolled to the Rajd Polski and arrived in Wrocław with a head full of questions: what do the stages look like? What can you expect once you leave the service park? Experienced locals reckon this year's edition is looking a bit easier than the previous years, but how true is that? Instead of having your questions answered, you – along with the rest of the participants – get taken to see the Racławice Panorama. While it is surely nice to admire this monumental painting, it does not help at all with understanding the challenge that you’re going to face in just a few hours. But fear not because I am here exactly for that: to guide you through the famed stages that have so much to tell. But first, before we let the rivalries loose on the stages, the official start must take place. The ceremony surely will be attended by thousands of fans, gathered here to get at least a glimpse of the drivers from all around the world sitting in their loud, colourful cars. The spectacle ...

Rajd Polski - Quick History Lesson, by Wiktor Smoliński

I think it's safe to say all rally fans know Rajd Polski – or Rally Poland in English – pretty well, both from WRC and ERC: fast gravel roads, with big jumps leading through the fields of Mazuria. But that's just in recent years. The world's second oldest rally has a rich history and has visited many places before. The first edition was held in 1921, starting in Warsaw. With six competitors at the start, the rally turned out to be a success and was continued in the next years, with the route getting longer. In 1939, Grand Prix International Rally as it was called back then was 4358 kilometres long! The Second World War obviously delayed the next editions, but the rally came back in 1947. Unfortunately, it did not earn the sympathy of communist officials back then and it was halted after the 1948 edition. The big return happened six years later, and in 1959 the organization was given to Automobilklub Krakowski. Because of that the event was moved to Kraków but during some ed...

Updates about how we continue after Round 6 was cancelled

We have some good news! And some bad ones. You might have noticed that this season is a bit struggling to make the rallies happening at the dates that the calendar suggests due to some issues with timing equipment, then some light issues in the space time continuum which led to drivers reporting stutters or other supernatural shenanigans. This time around it's stewards rolling the dice on how much penalty they give for C4Hs. So it is with a heavy heart that we have to announce that the Gilbert rally will take the spot of the RAC rally. In turn, the RAC will be held as an unofficial event. The decision was made because the RAC would be very similar to Press-on-Regardless given that a lot of stages would overlap.    >>>CHECK THE UPDATED CALENDAR HERE<<< That means that the stage list is still valid but conditions and order will be different to the first attempt. We know that's annoying for some and this season has been anything but flawless but we hope you stay...

Round 6 - CANCELLED and DELAYED

Hello, the current round of Sim Rally Masters has been cancelled. This is related to some issues that occured with the the last huge RSF update. The RSF wizards already fixed the issues but since the update released as the round was running, we need to cancel it and push it back. The next date is in discussion but it will be the next Wednesday, as soon as we know and feel it's safe to start this endeavour. Meanwhile you can drive the rally if you want. We will also make sure that no one will have an advantage when we restart the rally but we will not add any more stages. Thanky you and keep driving all those other rallies for now!

Time for some action in Japan. This time we split up round three into three seperate rallies. One on tarmac with lots of sun, the other a mudfest and the third takes us to the snowy regions. Each rally will count as a full rally but the caveat is that there is no superrally rule. So, if you crash out, that's it. No points for that rally. Every rally is also just one leg, so if you start it, you need to finish it. You can tackle each rally in any order you like and now let's do some rallying in the land of the rising sun. >>> Round 3/I - Tamakku <<<   >>> Round 3/II -  Guraberu <<<   >>> Round 3/III - Suno <<<
